Many times the complexity of our world creates confusion that misleads and chaos that distracts, making it difficult for us to focus on what matters most. The lyrics above call me to share whatever wisdom my "shades of gray" have collected with any who might find it helpful in dealing with the challenges of complexity.  With over 40 years of innovative and diverse people development experience, I understand the difficulties of chaos and confusion. Today Christians across the world are preparing for the beginning of Lent. Lent is a season of forty days, not counting Sundays, which begins on Ash Wednesday and ends on Holy Saturday. Lent is a time of repentance, and preparation for the coming of Easter. 2024: A Series of Moves in the Right Direction

I love a New Year! New Years oozes with the hope and possibility of renewal. As I reflect on the new year that is before us I wonder how I might become a steward of hope and possibility in 2024.  If you share this desire to become discernibly different, and to make a discernible difference in 2024, it seems we likely are collectively pondering the same questions.  Who are we called to be? What does that look like? How do we make it happen? I’ve found the term “The Next Right Thing” useful in overcoming the complexity and nuance answering these questions requires. Proper attention to the next right thing focuses us on what matters and helps us move in the right direction. I believe maintaining the right direction for me in will consist of an intentional set of decisions to do the next right thing.  I wonder what the impact might be if we all stayed focused on the next right thing.
